Why Solana Could Smash Its All-Time High, According to Top Fundstrat Strategist
Solana Headed to $450? Analyst With Spot-On Crypto Calls Says It’s Just the Beginning
A leading crypto analyst from Fundstrat Global Advisors, Sean Farrell, is doubling down on his bold prediction: Solana (SOL) could hit $450—possibly within the next year. Known for accurately predicting both Bitcoin and Ethereum price moves in 2023 and 2024, Farrell is once again making waves by calling for a major Solana rally.
Here’s what’s driving his confidence—and why investors are paying attention.
Who Is Sean Farrell and Why Should You Listen?
Sean Farrell isn’t just any analyst. As the head of crypto strategy at Fundstrat, Farrell has earned a reputation for making bold but accurate market calls. Back in 2023, he forecasted Bitcoin’s resurgence at a time when most analysts were still bearish. In 2024, he correctly called Ethereum’s breakout above $4,000.
Now, Farrell believes Solana could outperform the market—especially if a few key events unfold by year-end.
Why Solana? The Ethereum Connection
Ethereum’s Rise = Solana’s Gain
Farrell sees Ethereum’s strength as a direct boost to Solana.
“One of the most bullish things for Solana, I think, is ETH rerating higher,” he explained.
According to Farrell, Ethereum’s price movements serve as a benchmark for other layer-1 blockchains like Solana. If ETH continues to surge, it creates a ripple effect, pulling SOL higher with it.
This is because many alternative blockchains (called “Layer-1s”) often get revalued in relation to Ethereum’s success. Solana, as a high-performance blockchain known for fast, low-cost transactions, is often viewed as Ethereum’s top competitor.
The ETF Catalyst: Solana’s Trump Card
Spot Solana ETFs May Arrive in 2025
While Ethereum ETFs have already made headlines, Solana may soon have its own moment. Farrell points out that Solana-based ETFs are highly likely to be approved in 2025—and they could include staking options right from the start.
That’s huge. Unlike Ethereum ETFs, which initially launched without staking, Solana ETFs may allow investors to earn staking rewards while holding the asset through a fund.
“We are expecting Solana ETFs sometime this year,” said Farrell. “I do think we’re probably going to get staking with them.”
Bloomberg Analysts Back the Prediction
Bloomberg ETF experts agree, giving Solana ETF approvals a 90%+ probability. That kind of institutional access could dramatically increase demand, especially from traditional investors who prefer regulated markets over crypto exchanges.
If this plays out, it could fuel the next wave of buying.
What Makes This Rally Different?
Solana hit an all-time high of $295 in January, but Farrell says the current run is healthier and more sustainable.
“Unlike then, this summer climb has been much more healthy,” he noted, pointing to organic growth and rising developer activity on Solana’s network.
The recent rally is driven by fundamentals and investor interest, not just hype. There’s growing adoption of Solana-based apps, from DeFi platforms to NFT marketplaces and even tokenized real-world assets.
If the ecosystem continues to expand—and if staking and ETF access are added—Farrell believes $450 is still well within reach.
Risk and Resistance: What Could Go Wrong?
Of course, nothing in crypto is guaranteed.
Farrell cautions that Solana will face resistance near its previous high of $295. Breaking that level will be tough and may lead to short-term volatility. However, he believes that if it breaks through, prices could move rapidly past $300 and climb toward $450.
He also notes that macroeconomic factors, regulatory hurdles, or delays in ETF approvals could slow the rally.
The Bigger Picture—Crypto’s Second Wind?
Fundstrat founder Tom Lee recently took over as chairman of Bitmine, an Ethereum treasury company, signaling broader institutional support for digital assets.
At the same time, stablecoin activity is booming, crypto treasuries are on the rise, and both Ethereum and Solana are benefiting from increasing use cases outside speculation—from decentralized finance to real-world asset tokenization.
All this, Farrell believes, makes the second half of 2025 potentially explosive for crypto markets.
Is It Too Late to Buy Solana?
Farrell doesn’t think so.
Despite the recent rally, Solana is still well below his price target. And with major catalysts like ETF approvals, ETH price surges, and growing institutional demand, he sees SOL as one of the most promising bets for long-term investors.
“Our loose price target at the beginning of the year was around $450, and I think that is still in play,” he concluded.
